Yogeshwar Dutt Wins India’s 5th Medal at 2012 London Olympics; Wins Bronze Medal in 60kg Freestyle Wrestling

India’s Wrestler Yogeshwar Dutt has won the bronze medal for India in 60 kg category Freestyle Wrestling at the ExCel Arena in London after he beat North Korean Jong Myong Ri in play off match.

Yogeshwar Dutt defeated Jong Myong Ri of DPR Korea 3-1 taking the third period 6-0.

Earlier in the pre-quarter final Yogeshwar Dutt was defeated by Besik Kudukhovis who later on qualified for the gold medal. That meant that Yogeshwar Dutt qualified for the repechage round where he neded to win three bouts to win bronze medal.

Yogeshwar Dutt in his first bout took on Franklin Gomez Matos of Puerto Rico. Yogeshwar won 3-0 against Franklin Gomez Matos of Puerto Rico Matos, a silver medallist in the World Championship.

In his second bout, Yogeshwar Dutt took on Esmaeilpoorjouybari from Iran. He lost the first period 3-0 and then bounced back in style to win second period 3-2 and was unstoppable in the third period winning it 4-0.

Then in his third bout he took on Jong Myong Ri of Nirth Korea and defeated him 3 – 1 to win the bronze medal for India winnig three bouts in an hour.

This is 5th Medal for India at the 2012 London Olympics.

This is the third medal for India in wrestling events in its Olympic History.
