Ganesha is widely worshiped as the god of wisdom, prosperity and good fortune.
Ganesh Chaturthi or Vinayaka Chaturthi or Ganeshotsav, is the Hindu festival of Lord Ganesha, the son of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. On this day Lord Shiva and other God and Goddess blessed Ganesha “as superior to all the gods”.
According to the hindu calendar this festival come in the month of Bhaadrapada shukla chaturthi and since then it continues for 10 days i.e; till Anant Chaturdashi. Followers bring idiols of Lord Ganesha to their houses decorated the house with flowers, lights, etc. Make Makhar or Mandaps and place the idiols of Lord Ganesha in it. At few place people make different beautiful scenery at their place. People can keep these idiols 1 an half day to 10 days at their house as per their wish.
As the Ganesh festival is near by many people start looking for the unique ideas of decoration of Ganpati.
In 2015, Ganesh Chaturthi will be celebrated from 17 to 27 September 2015.
