Expectations from India Athletes for this time are sky high, after winning 3 medals including the first ever won individual gold medal at Olympic in 2008 (Beijing). This time around at 2012 London Olympics Indian competitors can win 5 gold medals.
After Beijing games, Indians have improved on quite a few disciplines and there are a couple of competitors who have still maintained there performances level.

There are high hopes from players like Bhupathi, Bopanna, Paes and Sania Mirza speacially after their recent individual performance. But what we can look forward to is, how good is the combine effort of these player specially after the recent controversy going around.
After losing her game against Maria Yulianti of Indonesia at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, Saina Nehwal’s graph of good performance have being increasing. Currently she is in top form which she proved at the Indonesian Super Series earlier this year. She is all set to win a gold medal and make the country proud.
The efficient players of this event have already showered that their are the best shooting team ever at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. There is a heavy load of high hopes from the Royal Artillery Barracks being send to London.
For this time India is sending an 11-member strong team for shooting, which includes defending Olympic champion Abhinav Bindra, World-record holder Gagan Narang and World Champion Ronjan Sodhi and the others who are equally efficient to raise the number of winning medals. If things go right, then we can definitely expect atleast couple of gold medals from the shooting team.

Indian Hockey Team has qualified for 2012 London Olympics, but we cannot expect from the team. If this team wins a medal then it would be a complete surprise for for the country.
