Fauja Singh – a hundred year old man has set a Guinness World Records by finishing a marathon on Sunday, October 16, at the Toronto Waterfront Marathon.
Fauja Singh of India — nicknamed “The Turbaned Tornado” completed the 26.2 miles run in eight hours
Born in India in 1911, Singh started running in marathons at an age of 89.
Singh finished over six hours after winner Kenneth Mungara of Kenya crossed the finish line. The 38-year-old Mungara won the event for the fourth straight year.
Even at age of 100, Singh reportedly trains each day, jogging and walking an average of 12 to 16 kilometres.
