Director Raj Kanwar dies due to Kidney problems in Singapore

Bollywood director Raj Kanwar died on 3rd feb 2012 in Singapore following kidney related issue. The Bollywood filmmaker, who had directed Shahrukh Khan and Akshay Kumar in hit films Deewana and Andaaz, was suffering from a kidney ailment.

In the year 1988 Raj Kanwar entered the Bollywood as an assistant director through the movie Ram Avtar. Later, Raj Kanwar took up direction and directed Shahrukh Khan and late actress Divya Bharti in the movie Deewana in 1992. Shahrukh Khan tweeted, “My friend raj kanwarji passed away. The impermanence of life, makes one feel so helpless. May his soul rest in peace. Aisi Deewangi..miss u sir.”

Later, Director Raj Kanwar wrote scripts for several films and directed films such as Jeet, Laadla, Kartavya, Jaan, Itihaas, Daag: The Fire, Badal, Har Dil Jo Pyar Karega, Dhaai Akshar Prem Ke, Humko Deewana Kar Gaye and Andaaz. His last film was Sadiyaan: Boundries Divide Love Unites, which had launched Shatrughan Sinha’s son Luv in 2010.
