Prime Minister Narendra Modi today launched a revolutionary mobile app which he described will change the way Indian conducts money related transacts.

Prime Minister launched a new mobile app ‘Bhim’ to encourage e-transactions at Talkatora Stadium in New Delhi on Friday.

The name of this App is dedicated to Dr. Bhimrao Ramji Ambedekar, the father of our constitution.

Whats is BHIM App ?

Launched in the name of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, the full name of BHIM App is  (Bharat Interface for Money) Application.

This app was lancuhed today by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in a DigiDhan Mela held at the Talkatora Indoor Stadium in New Delhi, India which lucky draw was being conducted to award winners who transacted digitally ….

Whats is BHIM App ?

Bharat interface for money (BHIM) is a UPI (Unified Payment Interface) based payment solution. This App will help people to send and receive money digitally.

BHIM is bascally an Aadhaar based mobile payment application – a rebranded version of UPI (Unified Payment Interface) and USSD (Unstructured Supplementary Service Data).

This new payments app is soon expected to minimize the role of plastic cards and the point of sale machines once believed to be essential for a less cash society.

Make Payment to Anyone Using BHIM APP from Ordinary Feature Phone :

The BHIM App can be used to send or receive money to and from anyone. You just need a mobile and that too any phone works. A Smartphone or an feature phone.

You also don’t need Internet to access this payment interface using USSD.

To use this service users need to dial *99# from any kind of mobile phone.

After you download BHIM App from above mentioned links, click on Install and wait for download to complete.

  • After installing the App, select preferred language among English and Hindi.
  • Click on NEXT and when the App asks for permissions, click allow.
  • Tap on “let’s get started”.
  • Now verify your mobile number.
  • Your mobile number needs to be registered with your Bank Account and linked with your Aadhar Card for the app to function.
  • Your mobile number will be automatically verified.
  • Select your bank from the list provided in the app and start making digital payments….

Now using BHIM app you can send money, receive money or make payments for your purchases by simply scanning a QR code.

How does BHIM App Work ?

Register your bank account with BHIM, and set a UPI PIN for the bank account. Your mobile number is your payment address (PA), and you can simply start transacting. Yes! It is that simple.

Send / Receive Money: Send money to or receive money from friends, family and customers through a mobile number or payment address. Money can also be sent to non UPI supported banks using IFSC and MMID. You can also collect money by sending a request and reverse payments if required.

Check Balance: You can check your bank balance and transactions details on the go.

Custom Payment Address: You can create a custom payment address in addition to your phone number.

QR Code: You can scan a QR code for faster entry of payment addresses. Merchants can easily print their QR Code for display.

Transaction Limits: Maximum of Rs. 10,000 per transaction and Rs. 20,000 within 24 hours.

BHIM app would eliminate the fee payments for service providers like card companies such as Mastercard or Visa, which has been a stumbling block in merchants switching to digital payments making it affordable to even merchants in remote villages, said people familiar with the development.
