500, 1000 Rupee Notes cease to be legal tender from Midnight Tonight

Breaking News of the moment comes from New Delhi, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced the effective from midnight of November 8, 2016, Rs. 500 and Rs.1000 will cease to be legal tender.

“These notes are just papers from tomorrow,” says the prime minister during his address to the nation.

Highlights of his Mr. Modi’s Announcements :

From midnight tonight ( 8th Nov) all Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes will be tendered illegal.

People can deposit their notes between 10th November to 30th December in their accounts, or get them replaced with Rs 100 notes, by providing ID cards.

Fuel stations, Airport & Railways to accept 500 & 1000 till 11th November 2016.

ATMs not to work on 9th & 10th November 2016.

New 500 & 2000 notes to be issued with more security and tracking features.

Debit & Credit cards to continue as is.
